The COGITO software platform, based on software agents and edge computing, has been developed for the creation of cognitive buildings. Innovative techniques based on IoT and AI have been studied for applications regarding comfort, safety, and energy saving. The platform has been validated with important demonstrators realized, among others, at the ICAR-CNR headquarters and Matera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project involved various academic partners (UNICAL, UNIBAS, UNIRC), research institutions (ICAR-CNR, ENEA, SI-Lab), and corporate partners (TIM, SITE, SMARTS, SCAI Lab, Digimat, DS TECH, OMNIA Energia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">COGITO saw me as coordinator of the ICAR-CNR unit of activities relating to OR3 &#8211;
