Massimo Ruffolo Since 2001 is researcher at High Performance Computing and Networking Institute of the Italian Research Council (ICAR-CNR). His research interests at the ICAR-CNR are in the areas of Information Extraction and Wrapping, Data and Text Mining, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Semantic Web and technologies, Knowledge Management.
In 2010 he founded Altilia s.r.l. a start-up company that works in the content management, text analytics and information retrieval fileds. In particular, Altilia develops product for information extraction form PDF and Web documents.
In 2002 he co-founded Exeura s.r.l. a company, spin-off from the University of Calabria, that works in the IT research and development field.
Since 2002 to 2007 he worked at Exeura s.r.l. as senior consultant and project manager. At Exeura he planned and led many research and development projects in the fields of: Knowledge Management, Information Extraction and Integration, Logistics and Knowledge Representation. He also planned, implemented and led the Exeura’s internal Total Quality Management System.
Since 2006 to 2007 he worked at fourthcodex Inc., a company operating in the field of semantic technologies, as software architect. At fourthcodex he leaded a team aimed at planning and implementing a semantic technology for information extraction from heterogamous information sources.
Massimo Ruffolo holds: a Master in “Business and Management Science” from University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, a Ph.D. in “System Science and Computer Science” and a bachelor in “Managerial Engineering” from the University of Calabria.
He is author of many scientific papers appeared in International Conferences and Journal belonging to the computer and managerial science fields.
He teaches in many computer science engineering courses and masters.
