He is a Senior Researcher at the ICAR-CNR, Institute of High Performance Computing and Networking of the Italian National Research Council, in Cosenza, Italy. He lectures Information Systems at the University of Calabria in Cosenza, Italy.

His research interests include: distributed systems, grid and cloud computing, peer-to-peer networks, bio-inspired algorithms and protocols, Internet of Things solutions and technologies.

He is a member of the ACM and the IEEE.

He serves in the editorial board of the Journal of Network and Computing Applications, JNCA, Elsevier.

He was guest editor for special issues on:

He co-organized the first four editions of the Upgrade-CN workshop at the IEEE/ACM HPDC Symposium, from 2006 to 2009, and the first two editions of the workshop on Bio-Inspired Algorithms for Distributed Systems, BADS, at the IEEE/ACM ICAC Conference, in 2009 and 2010.
